What to Expect

On the Black Rhino Game Lodge Safari your day will start with game drives into secluded valleys. Along the way you might spot some of the Big 5 already – they’re all in the park! Even the critically endangered black rhino can be seen. In fact, the lodge is named after this fascinating animal. So long as people have been poaching rhinos these guys have had to be guarded 24/7.

Professional rangers will accompany you on your educational game drives. You can sit back and relax on open game drive vehicles. The skilled safari guides explain the secrets of this unique habitat and track down predators like leopard, cheetah, and the elusive leopard.

We end the day with the tasty cuisine that the lodge’s private chef carefully prepared.

After the game drives, guests can kick back in the entertainment area where there’s a dining room and lounge. Next to that, the restaurant and bar flow onto the viewing deck. The covered patio and plunge pool look very inviting after a hot day. Not to mention, you can spot more game frequenting the waterhole in front of the lodge!

The luxury suites offer guests a private retreat. They have huge floor-to-ceiling windows that open up onto a patio overlooking the African bush. From your room you can view plains game and elephants. Each comfortable suite has air-conditioning, a television, mini-bar, and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom is open plan with a closed toilet. Most rooms have an outdoor shower, as well as a separate bath.

Triple sharing is not applicable as rooms can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children under 17.

Conservation fees

Rates exclude conservation fees: currently R 250 per person per night and R 115 per child (5-9 years) per night. (Subject to change)

Child Policy

Children 0-3 years are not allowed
Children 4-11 years are charged 50% of adult rate when sharing with parents (2 full paying adults)
Children 12-16 years can be accommodated in a suite with parents (2 full paying adults), but will be charged 100% of the adult rate. Permitted on game drives.
Children 17 years and older to be accommodated in their own room and will be charged 100% of the adult rate. Permitted on game drives.
Children aged 4-5 are not permitted on standard game drives due to safety concerns and potential disruptions to other guests.
However, children in this age group can participate in a specially designed morning “bumble drive” subject to availability and management discretion.
Bush Bumbles are shortened game drives (between 45min-1hour), which go out after breakfast/brunch. This is a complimentary service that we offer.
Both parents are more than welcome to still join in on the main morning and afternoon game drives as well as join the kiddos on the bush bumble.
Children aged 6-11 are permitted on game drives at Management discretion, alternatively, Bumble Drives – subject to availability
All children under the age of 12 needs to be always supervised by an adult, especially when using the pool facilities
Parents/Guardians must sign an indemnity form prior to the child participating in game drives
Unfortunately, no childminding services are available due to legislative and company policies

Day 1	Check into your the luxurious Black Rhino Game Lodge. If you are in time for lunch, this is on your own account. We include all meals from dinner. You can settle in and relax before enjoying the afternoon game drive. A scrumptious dinner is included.
Day 2, 3	After a wake-up call we head off into the bush for more game viewing. Wild dogs frequent one of their dens in the area regularly. After lunch you can relax in your suite, or lounge around the pool before the afternoon game drive and dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Day 4	Depending on what time you need to leave, you can enjoy another early morning game drive and breakfast. Breakfast is included.
