Black Rhino Game Lodge is inside the Black Rhino Private Game Reserve, forming part of the Pilanesberg National Park. Black Rhino is a cosy and beautiful 4-star lodge situated in a Tamboti forest and offers exclusive game viewing in a private section of the Pilanesberg called the Black Rhino Reserve. It is malaria-free. Your day will start with game drives into secluded valleys and end with the tasty cuisine that the lodge’s private chef carefully prepares.

The lodge boasts a watering hole in front of the deck area. This waterhole has regular visits from a variety of animals, and it is not
uncommon to spot the black rhino here.

Directions

  • Travel along the N4 and take the R510 to Sun City
  • From the gate of Sun City, continue travelling in the direction of Rustenburg for approximately 4 kilometres on the R565.
  • At the stop street, turn right and travel approximately 30 kilometres on Madikwe Road, where you will find the entrance to Black Rhino Game Reserve on your right-hand side.
  • The road is tarred to the entrance and is suitable for standard sedan vehicles.

Child Policy

The child policy at Black Rhino Game Lodge aims to act in our guests’ best interest and safety.
We are within a national park and game reserve where animals roam freely.
Animals are wild and will always react according to their instincts.

  • Children 0-3 years are not allowed
  • Children 4-11 years are charged 50% of adult rate when sharing with parents (2 full paying adults)
  • Children 12-16 years can be accommodated in a suite with parents (2 full paying adults), but will be charged 100% of the adult rate. Permitted on game drives.
  • Children 17 years and older to be accommodated in their own room and will be charged 100% of the adult rate. Permitted on game drives.
  • Children aged 4-5 are not permitted on standard game drives due to safety concerns and potential disruptions to other guests.
  • However, children in this age group can participate in a specially designed morning “bumble drive” subject to availability and management discretion.
  • Bush Bumbles are shortened game drives (between 45min-1hour), which go out after breakfast/brunch. This is a complimentary service that we offer.
  • Both parents are more than welcome to still join in on the main morning and afternoon game drives as well as join the kiddos on the bush bumble.
  • Children aged 6-11 are permitted on game drives at Management discretion, alternatively, Bumble Drives – subject to availability
  • All children under the age of 12 needs to be always supervised by an adult, especially when using the pool facilities
  • Parents/Guardians must sign an indemnity form prior to the child participating in game drives
  • Unfortunately, no childminding services are available due to legislative and company policies
