Makanyane Lodge is an intimate, family-friendly game lodge that offers guests spacious and comfortable self-catering accommodation nestled in the Black Rhino Private Game Reserve, which forms part of the Pilanesberg National Park.

The lodge comprises 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms that can accommodate up to 10 guests.

The Standard Suite can accommodate 2 guests and can be configured with one king size extra length bed or two single extra length beds. The standard suite has a private bathroom with a bath, indoor and outdoor shower, and a small sitting area.

There are two family units, which sleep 4 people in each. These have been designed to include families with two separate interleading bedrooms to provide both privacy and a sense of comfort. The bathroom has a bath and an indoor and outdoor shower and a small sitting area. Beds can be configured as two king size extra length beds, or a four single extra length beds. All bedrooms are fitted with superior quality linen, bath towels and block out curtains.

All suites provide a 180 degree view of the bush and are set apart to provide complete privacy

The well-equipped kitchen has a fridge-freezer, microwave, oven, gas stove, toaster, coffee machine, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The kitchen features a breakfast table with a scullery and a dishwasher. The spacious living area features a lounge area with a fireplace and glass sliding doors leading to the garden. The TV room features a TV with DStv and a sleeper couch. The lodge has a bar with an ice machine and a laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, and ironing facilities.

Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, secure covered parking for 4 vehicles, a swimming pool with day loungers, a covered patio with outdoor seating, a boma and a lovely entertainment area with a braai area and a pizza oven. There is a zip line and a garden for children to play in.

Guests will have a dedicated ranger and game drive vehicle, allowing you to determine the duration and departure times of your game drives. The open game drive vehicle only accommodates 10 guests at a time.

Directions

• Coming from Rosebank / Johannesburg, OUR preferred route is the R512 past Lanseria Airport to Hartbeespoort Dam and over the Magaliesberg on the new mountain pass that onramp’s directly with the N4 highway.
• Coming from Pretoria head towards Rustenburg on the N4 highway. Stay on the N4 highway towards Sun City
• Stay on N4 Through Rustenburg, then take the 169 exit on the left then turn right at the robot.
  Carry on for 11km until you reach the roundabout, then take the first exit onto R565.
• Continue on this road for 23km until you reach a 4 way stop
• Continue straight from 4 way stop for approximately 27 km through a village (note the speed humps)
• You will see the Black Rhino Game Reserve entrance on the right
• Sign in at the gate, your destination Lodge #31 – Makanyane Lodge
• Continue on a well-maintained dirty road, called Black Rhino Drive, for 2.7km and you will see the turn-off to your right marked Lodge #31
• Follow the Lodge #31 sign-posts for 200m to the entrance of the lodge.
• Black Rhino Game Reserve registers on WAZE and GOOGLE MAPS
• With the new R512 road over the Magaliesberg, it takes 2 hours from Rosebank to Black Rhino Game Reserve. From Pretoria it is even less.
